The hunting season is always too short and this year especially busy with field trials. Every day hunting is a good day, everything else is a waste of a hunting dog’s life. The pheasant season is now open, we had a lovely day with all our dogs, regardless age – hunting togheter.

Hunting willow grouse in highlands
This year we returned to Ana lake in Tåssåsen in Lapland for our annual willow grouse hunt, where it all started for more than 10 years ago. We had an awesome week with good hunting, skilled dogs and decent shooting in company of good friends. Torbjörn and Thelma teamed up sucessfully and managed to bag nice amount of birds by themselves. Snaiper’s Missy was on her first grouse hunt and impressed us by handling the wild grouse in an excellent way.
grouse training on moors
Just back from the moors in UK traning grouse together with other passionate Weimaraner people. It was a privilege to be part of this event, an unforgettable weekend on beyond belief beautiful grounds, unbelivable density of grouse and fenomenal people to share it with! The event was initiated by Mr. Dario Martina and organised in cooperation with the Brittish Weimaraner Club to encourage handlers and owners of working Weimaraners to continue their work, meet up with other handlers and exhange experience. A big thank you to our hosts and game keepers that made it all possible!
Training weekend
Summer is good for traning for the coming hunting season, specially for waterworks, steadiness and retrieving. This weekend we were training for multi hunting test that prepairs the dogs for the waterwork, forest and field. The waterwork in the Swedish multi hunting test contains three blind retrieves on distance of 30-60 meters and a distraction shot with a thrown bird when the dog is on its way retrieving the second bird. The water was quite challenging with a lot of vegetation and small islands where you had to direct the dog over, around or to the island to find the blind retrieves. Great fun and good experience!
Myra takes full score
Myra (Northern Arrow’s Mackmyra), 1 yo, entered the first retrieving test for this season and scored full 10/10. Myra is imported from Finland, she is a daughter of our Luke and part of our Snaiper’s family. Thanks Linn and Christoffer for great work and good luck in the field trials!
