Evert (Ottercreek & Soutphaw Jack of All Birds) has opened the trial season on the best way – two 1st prizes on Field Trials in Open Class in a row and now qualified to enter the FT Elite Class! Evert is 2 years and has become a solid bird dog this season, great nose and firm point. Congratulations Adam Dschulnigg and good luck for the Elite class!
Partridge season is open
The partridge season opened in the best way, hunting with all our dogs, Indy 13,5, Luke 11, Thelma 5 and Ray 4. We had a super day – the dogs presented many possibilities for us, many beautiful points, Torbjörn was the perfect shot and we could finish the day with a lovely dinner. Can’t really ask for more.
the highlight of the year
The highlight of the year is again the annual grouse hunt in the Swedish highlands. The first day was magic despite the storm closing in on us. Thelma and Ray presented a covey after covey, we had more than 90 grouse on wings. Torbjörn was skilled and fortunate to shoot his bag limit of 8 birds, I also got an opportunity to shoot over Ray myself. The dogs showed great precision and routine the whole week and gave us many opportunities to bag some birds. Adam was very pleased to shoot the first grouse for Evert – it is always a special feeling to shoot the first birds for your young dog. All hard work finally pays off and you can just enjoy it.
high score on retrieving test
So happy with my little mama dog Ray that got it all right on her first retrieving test since her pups. Full points on fox track 300m, full points on water retrieve in elite class and high score 8 points on the search and retrieve. This allows us to enter this seasons field trials.
Puppies have moved
This is it. I have had a blast – the best time ever. All pups have moved to their new homes. Incredibly grateful for the wonderful families that take it from here. Enjoy your ride!
Puppies 5 weeks
Our pups are now 5 weeks old, its a bunch of happy and curious puppies. They try everýthing new with great enthusiasm, still many things to try before they move to their homes.
Our little swarm of puppies are three weeks today, they have opened their eyes, ears, getting sharp teeth and climbing out of the box already since a week ago. Ray is a fantastic mother. This will be Snaiper’s S-litter, the girls will be named Sol (sun), Summit, Scarlet, Sky and Supernova, the males Stark (strong), Storm, Seger (victory), Skall (bark), Smoke and Sårk (boy in Gotlandic).
11 puppies!
They are finally here! Every time it’s equally exciting and terrifying to wait for the puppies to arrive. We were blessed with a nice litter of 11 puppies – 6 males and 5 females, all strong and healthy. Ray is an amazing mother. We are happy and thankful for the great interest shown towards this litter. We are still in the process in deciding the pups future homes and hope that you have a bit more patience with us.
Prepairing for the coming hunting season
It’s time to train for the coming hunting season – retrieving, tracking, search for lost game, water retrieve etc. Evert shows how it’s done – very nice presentation of the game!
Puppies!
We are excited to announce that we are expecting puppies in the middle of June! The mother of the coming litter is our pocket rocket from US Field trial lines – Ray http://snaiperdogs.com/sv/hundarna/ray-of-light/. The sire of this litter is Northern Arrow’s Marvelous Martin aka Mack. Mack is a son of our legendary Snaiper’s Luke http://snaiperdogs.com/sv/hundarna/snaipers-luke/ – Mack is a very promising young dog with exciting pedigree – 5 generations European working champions combined with American and UK field trial lines in his pedigree. We are expecting puppies with great drive, stabile and nice temperament and correct exterior from this combination. You are welcome to contact us if you are interested in a new hunting buddy and/or FT.
