Fury (Southpaw’s Ottercreek Furiosa) takes her 1st prize FT open class. It was anything but sunshine and easy ride this weekend, the first day there were no dogs to prize out of 12 entries and the second day only three managed to handle the difficult birds. It takes its dog that runs hard enough in the vast rape fields that are dense and almost man high to nail the pheasants – Fury killed it! Not only once but three finds with firm point and beautiful handling of the situation. Congratulations and well done Karin Ryberg! We are so proud of you!
Evert (Ottercreek & Southpaw Jack of All Birds) has shown some skills! Only in 5 entries, he has collected the 4x 1st prize to qualify for the Swedish FT champion title and in the young age of 2 years! Well done Adam Dschulnigg and Evert, huge congratulations – we are so proud of you!
This is the best time of the year – hunting with our dogs and good friends, there is almost nothing that beats this!
S-litter met up for the first time this weekend since they had moved to their new homes. The puppies are now 16 weeks and its time to see how the training is coming along, its also time to introduce some birds for the new bird dogs. 9 out of 11 puppies were present, I’m so happy to see you all working so well with your pups, already looking forward to the next time!
Our adult dogs went hunting and bagged some pheasants together with some skilled shooters.
Ray got 2nd prize in the Swedish utility test, “Fullbruksprov” (forest-, water- and fieldwork trial over two consecutive days). Ray was also nominated the best forest search and retrieve of the lost game. Only a few Weimaraners have attempted the trial over the last 40 years (4 individuals to prize in total, no 1st prize holders yet). It is a great challenge for any all round hunting dog and a lot of fun! We’ll be back!
Evert (Ottercreek & Soutphaw Jack of All Birds) has opened the trial season on the best way – two 1st prizes on Field Trials in Open Class in a row and now qualified to enter the FT Elite Class! Evert is 2 years and has become a solid bird dog this season, great nose and firm point. Congratulations Adam Dschulnigg and good luck for the Elite class!
The partridge season opened in the best way, hunting with all our dogs, Indy 13,5, Luke 11, Thelma 5 and Ray 4. We had a super day – the dogs presented many possibilities for us, many beautiful points, Torbjörn was the perfect shot and we could finish the day with a lovely dinner. Can’t really ask for more.
The highlight of the year is again the annual grouse hunt in the Swedish highlands. The first day was magic despite the storm closing in on us. Thelma and Ray presented a covey after covey, we had more than 90 grouse on wings. Torbjörn was skilled and fortunate to shoot his bag limit of 8 birds, I also got an opportunity to shoot over Ray myself. The dogs showed great precision and routine the whole week and gave us many opportunities to bag some birds. Adam was very pleased to shoot the first grouse for Evert – it is always a special feeling to shoot the first birds for your young dog. All hard work finally pays off and you can just enjoy it.
So happy with my little mama dog Ray that got it all right on her first retrieving test since her pups. Full points on fox track 300m, full points on water retrieve in elite class and high score 8 points on the search and retrieve. This allows us to enter this seasons field trials.
This is it. I have had a blast – the best time ever. All pups have moved to their new homes. Incredibly grateful for the wonderful families that take it from here. Enjoy your ride!
