Snaiper’s Thelma wins the highest FT score award and Asti’s challenge prize
Thelma was awarded with the “SWeiK highest score in Field trial 2018” and “Asti’s challenge” prize. Asti’s prize is to acknowledge allround and sound hunting dogs, awarded to the dog that has participated in at least three different disciplines with the highest score during the year. Thelma became both Swedish FT champion and beauty champion in 2018, was the FT challenge winner at Swedish Weimaranerclub championship, was awarded with the silver placement with the Swedish Team in Eurocup for Weimaraners, was merited with 3rd ECC a couple of times at International Field trials and got 1st prize in blood tracking. Thelma’s mother and great grandmother have been awarded with the same prize 2013 respective 2005. Asti herself is in Thelma’s pedigree 5 generations back. It is a great honor to be a part of her legacy and to receive this prestigious prize. So thankful!
Spring training in Croatia
Spring traning for Thelma, Ray and Myra on wild partridge in beautiful Croatia. Fantastic two weeks to train on 6000 hectar hunting grounds, changing weather and different type of grounds and crops gave the young dogs invaluable opportunity to develop as bird dogs. Myra, 9 months made big leaps, so much fun to follow how her search became more and more effective, using the wind wisely to find birds. She was still too eager to get to the birds and did not have time to point before flush, but she learned to respect another dogs point, backed her big sister Thelma several times and stayed steady in shot. Good nose and great drive – a good start!
Thelma and Torbjörn at ST Hubertus
Thelma and Torbjörn participated at St Hubertus competition, judge Mr. Amir Saidizand, World winner 2014. St Hubertus is a hunting competition where both hunter and his dog are evaluated as a team, with particular attention to dog-expertise and the technical aspects of hunting, emphasis on ethical and safe hunting manners. The hunter is evaluated for his fairness and hunting education, safety, ability and sportsmanship, the dog is evaluated for its relation to the hunter, its obedience and efficiency, the regularity of its quest, style, its marking, its respect for the game, its good nose and ability to find game. Thelma and Torbjörn scored 74/100 points and came second with only one point from winning! Great job considering this was the first time they teamed up together!
New members of Snaiper’s family
Under 2018 we have imported three new puppies to Snaiper’s kennel – Northern Arrow’s Mackmyra (Myra) Finland, Ottercreek & Southpaw Jack of All Brids (Evert), USA and Southpaw’s Ottercreek Furiosa (Fury) USA. I’m happy and grateful to have found such fantastic people to take care of our new stars, welcome Linn Berglund, Christoffer Grönlund, Adam Dschulnigg, Karin Ekh Dschulnigg and Karin Ryberg to our Snaiper’s family. The puppies are now 5-7 months old and the exciting journey to educated bird- and hunting dogs has already started. We hope that the pups will become good hunting companions and great family dogs and that in due time they also can contribute to the hunting weimaraner community in Sweden.
Happy New Year!
We finished 2018 with a pheasant hunt and were lucky enough to outsmart and bag some old roosters. Happy 2019!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Hunting in Portugal
Weekend with Snaiper’s family, hunting together in Portugal. Lovely to meet all old and new friends and discover that the youngest have become skilled hunters and the oldest still got it! Beautiful experience.
Snaiper’s Thelma Swedish field trial champion
Thelma had a good run today with nice points at Swedish Brittany Club regular field trial and was awarded her second 1st prize in elite class, which qualifies her for the Swedish Field Trial Champion title. Her trial season is now finished and we can enjoy pure hunting with her, which she masters so well.
1st Europacup for Weimaraner in Italy
Snaiper’s Thelma and Snaiper’s Missy entered the first edition of Europacup for Weimaraner in Toscana in Italy last week. Thelma was part of the Swedish team and Missy entered the competition individually as the reserv dog for the team. Both sisters were qualified the first day with VG and ranked 2nd and 1st in their batteries. Thelma was able to repeat her success the second day with another VG with 3rd ranking in her battery. The Swedish team won the deep water retrieve test and the morphological evaluation, 2nd place in the field trials and in total honourable 2nd place – SILVER! I’m very happy and honoured to be a part of the team and given the opportunity to participate in this great event!
