Southpaw & OtterCreek Ray of Light 1st prize in field trial open class! We were also rewarded with “the best team of the trial” award, 14 dogs entered. Big thanks to the arranging club SVSK and the honourable judge Mr Ingemar Roselin. This is Rray’s last entry in open class, elite class – ready or not- here we come!
We started the hunting season in Härjedalen and continued to Kittelfjäll for grouse hunt. We got many nice hunting days together with family and friends, very happy that Luke’s sister Scilla with her master Calle joined us this year. Scilla showed excellent bird finding scills, despite she has never been to highlands before. The birds were very light on their wings and did not leave too many good shooting opportunities. Still, we got a decent amount to secure our traditional new years dinner. Every time It feels really sad to leave the highlands, but after a week with long hunting days and many miles behind us, both dogs and we are quite tired and need to reload our batteries for the next time. So until next time!
Thelma and Ray are ready for the coming season, both for hunt and hunting test. Approved retrieving test in elite class, Thelma water work 10/track 10/lost search 9 and Ray water 9/track 10/search 10. Now back to packing for the grouse hunt in the mountains.

Training camp with Ray, preparing for multi hunting test. The main focus is on work after shot, a lot of various retrieving, both in water and on land – to prepare a versatile hunting dog for practical hunting. Ray has great passion for game, she is eager to work and has great will to please, it was absolute joy to see her so focused over 3 days and deliver in every discipline. Ray also passed her first open class blood track and was awarded 1st prize. I’m very pleased with her development and looking forward to start the multi hunting test in the future with her.

Big congratulations to Satu Pränni and Northern Arrows kennel in Finland! 7 strong puppies were born this morning to Trubon Ghuste Trakhaos – Khaos and our Snaiper’s Luke. We are looking forward to our new little star to move to Sweden in the end of the summer.
